As announced earlier, Due to COVID-19, the national Olympiad programme culminating in the international Olympiads of 2021 will follow a two-stage selection procedure instead of three stages. - The first stage is the Indian Olympiad Qualifier (IOQ) 2020-2021.
- The second stage will be the Orientation cum Selection Camp (OCSC) organized by HBCSE.
IOQ is a three-hour two-part examination which is jointly organized by the Indian Association of Physics Teacher and Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE). IOQ is a combination of two Examinations (Part 1: National Standard Examination – NSE & Part II: Indian National Olympiad). Part B will be evaluated only for students screened through the first part (NSE) and the selection for the next level (OCSC) will be determined solely by the performance in this part. After IOQ, students will be selected for Orientation cum Selection Camp (OCSC) organized by HBCSE.
NSEs for Biology (NSEB), Chemistry (NSEC) and Physics (NSEP) have been replaced by Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Biology (IOQB), Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Chemistry (IOQC) and Olympiad Qualifier in Physics (IOQP) respectively.
Screening Criteria: The screening criteria for part II (INO) of IOQ to be evaluated will be similar to the qualification criteria for INO from NSE in previous years. The Criteria for qualification for OSCC on the basis of performance in Part II (INO) of IOQ will be similar to INO to OCSC criteria applied in previous years.
